This January, California destinations across the state are invited to participate in 2018 California Restaurant Month (CRM).
The statewide promotional effort provides a robust platform that shines a global spotlight on the Golden State's diverse epicurean experiences and positions the state as one of the top culinary destinations in the country. The deadline to register is Oct. 17.
This year, the program will provide destinations with powerful storytelling opportunities to raise the profile of their unique culinary experiences through regional and national earned media opportunities, as well as engaging social media and owned channel content.
Visit California will support the initiative with dedicated CRM content on owned channels; targeted PR outreach to national and regional media; a comprehensive paid digital advertising campaign; and extensive social media efforts through Visit California, California Dream Eater and Instagram influencers. Visit California will also produce a series of webinars for participating destinations to share best practices and strategies regarding program development and marketing.
To be eligible to participate in CRM, destinations must offer culinary programing during the month of January that could include themed menus focused on seasonality, local fare, special ingredient integrations, signature cocktail or special pricing; a series of culinary experiences, such as winemaker, brewer, forager, slow food dinners, VIP Tours, or food crawls; or food festivals and events with related ancillary programming
